Urgent: Without New Volunteers, Kenora Baseball May Not Return Next Season

Jun. 06, 2025

The Kenora Baseball League (KBL) is at a critical turning point. Several key leadership roles—including Vice President and Treasurer—will be vacant by the end of this season. Without new board members stepping up, there is a serious risk that the league will not operate next year.

This is not just a call for help—it’s a call to action.

Why Now? Many of our current board members have dedicated over a decade of service to KBL, often filling multiple roles to keep the league running. Their commitment has been incredible—but now it’s time to pass the torch. We need fresh energy and new leaders to ensure the future of baseball in Kenora.

What’s the Commitment? KBL is a working board, and we value your time. Here’s what to expect:
  • Board meetings are typically held once a month during the off-season.
  • In the lead-up to and during the season, we may meet 5-6 times over a three-month span.
  • Once the season wraps up, there are usually no meetings for 2-3 months.
  • On average, board members can expect to contribute 10-15 hours per month during the busy season.
We also offer a transition period where new volunteers can shadow outgoing board members, learn the responsibilities, and step into their roles with full support.
